1930s Silk Day Dress & Matching Jacket with Balloon Sleeves

Product Details
A lovely, hard to find day dress & matching jacket. The textile is silk, screen printed in the most incredible brown and cream, op-art design. The dress has short sleeves that poof slightly and gather at the cuff. Classic 1930s bodice with gathers under the bust, almost empire waist style. The skirt is straight with small pleats at the front of the hem. Closes at the side with snaps. There is a very small nick in the textile just below the collar in the center, likely from jewelry. The jacket is clutch style with no closure and hangs loosely from the shoulders. The sleeves are incredible! Huge, balloon style that gather at the cuff with pleats and folds. Photos really don't do them justice. Extraordinarily made with excellent details and tailoring, they even pattern matched at the seams. Some of the images may look as though the color has changed or faded, that is just an optical illusion. The textile is strong and the dye is not fading. Very wearable!
