The gold embroidery on this 1980s dress is beautifully placed to highlight the great silhouette of this piece. The textile is unmarked, black organza with metallic gold embroidery. This dress is very lightweight and fully lined. The scallop edges of the gold embroidery beautifully frame the neckline, and the sleeves are elbow length and sheer. There is a large black bow at the waist, and the skirt has great volume and is maxi length. The low back has a unique square shape. There is one large hole in the sheer black layer of the skirt (see images), but because the lining is black this is very difficult to see.
