Impossibly Cool Mushroom Records Satin Jacket The Magic Land of Ubilam
Sold Out
Product Details
This is an extremely rare jacket from The Magic Land of Ubilam (Malibu backwards), a business that made custom jackets for record labels in the 1970s. This jacket is from the Canadian independent label Mushroom Records, in business from 1974-1980. Main offices were in Vancouver, but they maintained a second office on Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles. They released successful albums from Heart, Doucette and Chilliwack among others.
Green satin with red satin lining, closes with a heavy duty metal front zipper. The back has a velvet capped mushroom and Mushroom Records in chain stitch. This jacket is an extraordinary piece of music history!
Condition Details: Very Good - The red lining has some small marks, stains and snags. The inside hem, along the gathered areas has worn through in a couple of small spots. The waistband is not stretchy, but I'm honestly not sure if it ever was. The cuffs have some signs of wear on the inside edges and some faint staining on the outside. The green satin exterior has numerous small marks, tiny snags and areas of wear, especially the very edge by the bottom of the zipper, but nothing that affects the overall look or wearability of the jacket. The wear shown on this jacket is typical of vintage satin and to be expected in such a heavily worn and loved piece. A lotta soul in this one with great patina overall. A stellar addition to any collection.
