Large 1960s Marshall Field & Co. 28 Shop Blue Shift Dress with Sequin Trim Unlabeled Malcolm Starr

Product Details

Remember that episode of Mad Men where Roger Sterling tries acid? One of the other guests at the party is wearing one of these beautiful dresses!

This listing is for one dress. The textile is unmarked, royal blue silk with multi-color trim around the hem and sleeve cuffs. This is a shift style dress with two front pockets hidden in the seams. This dress was sold in the Marshall Field's 28 Shop, and although there is no designer label, this dress is a Malcolm Starr.

Condition: Very Good- The trim shows deterioration throughout. The decoration is applied to what looks like silk organza. The organza has small holes in many areas from the trim rubbing it. There is color loss to the metallic foil and the foil ribbons are splitting in several areas. There are some missing stones and beads. This is typical of 1960s trims that have been used and to be expected. The dress presents very nicely overall.
