OSFM 1970s Purple Velvet Cape Coat with Cotton Appliques

Product Details

This listing is for one cape coat. The textile is velvet and cotton. One of a kind, handmade, purple bohemian cape. Folk style, top stitched cotton appliques in colors of red, orange, black, yellow, green, and ivory. Novelty red elephants with and without riders are placed on the front and back of the garment. An orange vine drapes around the neck with orange and black leaves culminating with a large red flower on the back. A black and red diamond patterned border trims the wearers right side while a contrasting zig zag in red and white borders the left. The heavyweight cape can be worn open or crossed in the center.

Condition Details: Very Good: Some oxidation and color variation to the cotton appliqué textiles. A few small areas of discoloration in the purple velvet. These issues do not detract from the overall look or wearability of this piece, but enhance the bohemian patina.
